  1. Very interesting information, I've been listening to these podcasts for a while now and you never fail to help me see something which seems obvious once shown. I thoroughly enjoy your podcasts and I can't wait for the next one. I'm hoping you'll do one on the idea of universal reconciliation at some point, it's something I'm trying to get a handle on. God Bless.

  2. Thanks, Andrew. I appreciate the feedback. I am not quite sure about "universal reconciliation", but I'm always open to suggestions!

  4. Thank you so much. I recently stumbled across your podcasts in iTunes, and have now listened to all of them. I can't wait for each new one to arrive. They are informative, and make studying the Bible exciting once again. They are giving me some of the teaching that is unfortunately so lacking in my local assembly.

  6. Another inspiring and interesting podcast. I can see you are getting more and more 'radio' like each time! In terms of quality I think your casts are some of the best on the web. Assuming (!) you write notes before recording, is there any chance/plans/use in pasting in the transcript or notes anywhere? It would help with indexing, 'googling' and citing.

  7. Mark, without making this issue the most important issue in Christianity, I beg to differ with your analysis on John. Have you not overlooked the significance of 4:35? Both 2:23 and 6:4 mention the Passover, occurring in March/April, and 5:1 may refer to the Feast of Weeks around May/June. Then, 4:35 mentions that the summer harvest in May/June is four months away, putting the context of 4:35 around January/February. Hence, another, unrecorded Passover must have gone by between 4:35 and 5:1 so that the period between 2:23 and 6:4 is two years. Thus the total time of Jesus' ministry would just be over three years. What do you think?

  8. Thanks, Cor. Good point. The problem for me is that 5.1 is not precise abut which festival this was. Also, can you be sure that 4.35 refers to summer harvest?

  9. Thanks, Trevor. I think the audio has got a bit better with practice. I recently listened again to the first minute of the first and was a bit horrified. I sometimes use sketchy notes for the structure, but they would not be comprehensible. It's mainly planned in my mind, and deliberately. The best way of making sure that you don't sound like you are reading from a script is not to read from a script. You make a good point about indexing, googling, etc. I usually try to add programme notes for that sort of reason, over on my NT Blog, and then I link from the posts here. Thanks again for the encouraging words.
