  1. I enjoyed this one. Hurrah for the snow. For what it's worth whilst the international version includes the Malta scene, it doesn't include the bird healing scene. It was nice to hear that again as it' seen a while.

    1. Thanks, Matt. Is that so? I had not realized that. I must take another look. I *love* the bird healing scene!

  2. It's my 60th. year so I was brought up on the more reverential Hollywood films. I think the supernatural element of the Gospels is now the most difficult aspect for a film maker to a convey to an audience, I think something like "Jesus of Montreal" is a good solution to this problem in that it brings a harder more contemporary edge to "Jesus". My favourite scene is where "Jesus" drives out (with a whip of tv cables) tv ad men who want a female actress to appear topless. I thought there was a brilliant portrayal of the Risen Jesus here in the U.K. last year. It was an episode of the BBC series "Rev", about a contemporary Anglican priest. The Rev (after being told his Church is to close & having an accident where he bumps his head), "meets" Jesus in a Road to Emmaus type encounter. The actor Liam Neeson plays Jesus who appears to be just another alcoholic on a piece of waste ground until the Rev's eyes are opened.
